FOR THE MEN; PREPARING FOR MARRIAGE.

After my post about preparing for marriage for the ladies, I was asked about the men....phew!
The truth is that 75% of men don't actually have time for things like this, so whether you write it or not, it's still the ladies that will end up reading it.....#FACT.
Men are wired/configured for some things bigger than emotional stuff. That’s why most men are not usually seen as being romantic.

If you want to make a good husband, here are some tips:
1. INVOLVE GOD. For every young man that wants a successful marriage, first things first, please, involve God. If you can't make out time for God, you are in for a bigger wahala. No kidding..... You want to wed in a church, why?....God factor. You want to wed in a mosque, why? God factor. So, believe it or not, without God, you are not going to make a successful marriage. Hence, learn to fast and pray as a bachelor.....in fact, that you are in a great relationship with a lady is not enough, that relationship can crash any minute. It's only when God is involved that you both can learn to tolerate, endure, and live together as married couple after the wedding.
2. RESPECT HER. You must put aside your pride and ego and learn to respect a lady. Only a man that can treat a lady fine can make a good husband. This is another hard one for the men. Most single guys don't have much respect for the ladies. You only act nice when you need a favour from her, but at the long run, we all know how it goes. So, if you can't do this, you are not yet prepared.
3. APPRECIATE HER. Learn to appreciate a lady. Women can so much love you, care for you, go to any extent to defend you if you know how to care and show her appreciations....even over very little things. In appreciating her, also learn to say you are sorry when you wrong her.
4. DON’T LIE. If you can't learn to come out clean before your woman, then be prepared for plenty of problems in your marriage. Start on time to let her know your capacity, let her know what you can do and what you can't do, let her know what you can afford and what you can't afford. If you had a terrible past, find a way to explain to her why she has to believe that you are a changed man and stick to the new man you profess. Lies and deceit destroys a marriage faster than any other factor.
5. NEVER CHEAT ON HER. Hmmm..... now someone is not finding it easy anymore, be cool. It’s not easy but it’s going to help you more if you can do that. Cheating on your spouse makes her lose regard and respect for you. It makes her never to trust you again. I don’t think you really want to live with a hostile woman because when a woman stops loving you, she starts sucking you. (Na you go run o!)
6. PREPARE YOUR MIND FOR MARRIAGE. Brothers, go and start reading books on marriage and great relationships, listen to audios on marriage, attend seminars, start preparing your mind now. A friend asked me why I allowed my wife to decide where we will base, I told him, only a married man can understand that choice that I made. He laughed, but today, he is preparing for his wedding and funny enough, he is wedding at a city where neither him no his fiancĂ©e resides, why?.... that’s where she wants it. He is going to relocate after their wedding, why?..... that’s how she wants it. When he came asking for my advice, I told him, if you love your woman, argue reasonably and sensibly. Always be open with her, if relocating is going to bring you two closer and make you both grow, do it. Always think of what will benefit her in all you plan to do.
7. ENHANCE YOUR COMMUNICATION SKILLS. For every marriage, good communication is a life wire. When you communicate well, both of you understand yourselves better. When the communication is not valued, the relationship dies. Truth be told, no one knows your heart except you open up.
8. BUILD YOUR FINANCE. This is a must. You need money to make love work. You need money to take care of the kids. You need money to shop and take care of your wife, rent or build a house, drive your dream cars, etc. YOU NEED MONEY. So, get it and use it wisely. Also, remember, when you have money, you can appreciate her with gifts. So, MAKE MONEY.
9. BE STRONG IN DIFFICULT TIMES. When this are not rosy, when their is hardship, your woman needs your courage to make it through such times. Don't be the type that will easily give up and start drinking or shying away from responsibilities. Such times are meant to bond you more than break you. ONLY STRONG MEN MAKE IT THROUGH SUCH TIMES.
10. BE A HAPPY MAN. Happiness is a choice. Only happy people make a happy couple and marriage. Learn to be happy always. It will help you to overlook a lot of flaws in your woman. When you choose happiness, you have chosen a path to greatness.

In a nutshell, marriage is a serious business. If you must marry, mean it.

The Origins of Wedding Rings And Why They’re Worn On The 4th Finger Of The Left Hand.

The history and symbolism behind the tradition of wearing a wedding ring and why, in most western cultures, it’s worn on the fourth finger of the left hand, otherwise known as the ring finger.
Wedding rings today are a billion dollar sentiment of love, but no one can really say for sure when this age old tradition actually started. Some believe that the oldest recorded exchange of wedding rings comes from ancient Egypt, about 4800 years ago. Sedges, rushes and reeds, growing alongside the well-known papyrus were twisted and braided into rings for fingers an other decorative ornaments worn by the women in those days.

The circle was the symbol of eternity, with no beginning or end, not only to the Egyptians, but many other ancient cultures. The hole in the center of the ring also had significance. It wasn’t just considered a space, but rather a gateway, or door; leading to things and events both known and unknown. To give a woman a ring signifies never-ending and immortal love.

The materials these rings were made of didn’t last very long and soon were substituted with rings made of leather, bone or ivory. The more expensive the material, the more love shown to the receiver; the value of the ring also demonstrated the wealth of the giver.

The Roman’s also eventually adopted this tradition but with their own twist. Rather than offering a ring to a woman as a symbol of love, they awarded them as a symbol of ownership. Roman men would “claim” their woman with the giving of a ring. Roman betrothal rings were later made of iron and called “Anulus Pronubus.” They symbolized strength and permanence. It is also said that the Romans were the first to engrave their rings.

It was not until about 860 that the Christians used the ring in marriage ceremonies; even then, it was not the simple plain band as we know it. It usually was highly decorated with engraved doves, lyres, or two linked hands. The Church discouraged such rings as ‘heathenish’ and, around the 13th century, wedding and betrothal rings were considerably simplified, and given a more spiritual look which was very aptly expressed by a Bishop when he dubbed it a “symbol of the union of hearts.”

Wedding rings through different stages in history have been worn on different fingers, including the thumb, and on both the left and right hands. According to a tradition believed to have been derived from the Romans, the wedding ring is worn on the left hand ring finger because there was thought to be a vein in the finger, referred to as the ‘Vena Amoris’ or the ‘Vein of Love’ said to be directly connected to the heart. However, scientists have shown this is actually false. Despite this, this myth still remains regarded by many (hopeless romantics) as the number one reason rings are worn on the fourth finger.

Another theory thought to be behind the ring being placed on the left hand by Christians seems a little more plausible. Early Christian marriages had a ritual to wear the wedding ring in the third finger. As the priest recited during the binding ,”In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit”, he would take the ring and touch the thumb, the index finger, and the middle finger; then, while uttering “Amen”, he would place the ring on the ring finger, which sealed the marriage.

A more practically based theory is that the soft metal (traditionally gold for wedding rings) is less worn or injured on the finger of the left hand, due to most of the world being right handed. Further, the fourth finger on the left hand is probably the second to the least used finger on a person’s hands outside of pinkies. Pinkies being small, making a small ring with little surface area to decorate, perhaps motivated people to then place it on the next least used finger, namely the fourth finger on the left hand, which is roughly the size of the other fingers.

Bonus Facts:
The earliest and smallest engagement ring was given to Princess Mary, daughter of Henry VIII. She was two years old at the time. Presumably the ring was given to her by Pedobear.
Seventeen tons of gold are made into wedding rings each year in the United States!
Back in the 1300’s, when people were particularly superstitious, it was believed that taking a piece of the bride’s clothing would grant the guests good luck. This lead to many guests that would literally tear cloth from the bride’s dress (which made for a very peeved bride!). So, in an attempt to stave off greedy luck-seekers, many brides began to throw items to guests that could be easily removed from her and that included her garter. Eventually, grooms began to remove the garter and tossed it to the men as a means to prevent tipsy male guests from trying to do the deed themselves. In an effort to help the women feel included, it eventually became customary for the bride to throw her bouquet at the female guests.
There are dozens of good-luck, bad-luck traditions followed by different cultures around the world. In Greek culture, a sugar cube is tucked into the bride’s glove to “sweeten” the marriage. For good luck, Egyptian women pinch the bride on her wedding day. The English believe a spider found in a wedding dress means good luck.Peas are thrown at Czech newlyweds instead of rice. Ancient Greeks and Romans thought the veil protected the bride from evil spirits. Brides have worn veils ever since. The groom carries the bride across the threshold to bravely protect her from evil spirits lurking below.
The first recorded account of a diamond engagement ring was in 1477 when King Maximilian I of Germany (1459-1519) proposed to Mary of Burgundy (1457-1482) and offered her a diamond to seal his vow. (So, men you now know who to blame!)
Interestingly, in many countries, even today, including Norway, Russia, Greece, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Poland, Austria, Germany,Portugal and Spain, the wedding ring in worn on the ring finger of the right hand and not the left. In Jewish tradition, the groom places the ring on the bride’s index finger, and not the “ring” finger at all.

The Deadly Craze: Men who purposefully catch HIV.

The Deadly Craze: Men who purposefully catch HIV.

The men who want the virus are called “bug chasers,” and the men who freely give the virus to them are called “gift givers.”

The world has seen many a fad, but recently, a very disturbing one has surfaced. A certain group of males has made a sport of contracting, and spreading the HIV Virus.

Dangerous? Extremely. But that seems to be exactly where the appeal lies.  According to Star Media Online, a US website which promotes meetings of bug-chasers and gift-givers who are already HIV positive already boasts  over 5,000 members. "Now, hundreds of men are introducing themselves on online forums, Facebook groups and Twitter. They meet up and try to transmit the potentially life-threatening virus."

One of the many shared ideologies of the group, is that contracting the disease is actually improving their quality of life, because of the pills that they need to take. Apparently the disease is no longer a threat to ones well-being, and is seen as "Not a big deal".
The general consensus is that as long as the participants are 100% consensual, nothing can be done to stop the group from "Spreading the love".

A member was quoted, "If you brought me a person I had infected and sat them in front of me I would probably feel some guilt over it if they hadn’t been educated about the risks. But all the people I have had sex with have made educated decisions.”

The question remains, is a disease that eventually morphs into the deadly AIDs virus an appropriate means for eroticism?

STOP HURTING YOUR HUSBAND, MEN HAVE FEELINGS TOO.

Men have feelings, too! Some men may be even more sensitive than most women. But you will never know it. Showing our emotions is not how we are wired. We are wired to suck it up, to man up, and to avoid confrontation.
There is some belief that when we don’t hide our hurt feelings, we can be labelled as soft or weak. So no matter how much we hurt inside we will do our best to not let it be known. We feel it, but we won’t show it.
DOING ANY OF THE UNDERLISTED COULD HURT YOUR MAN'S FEELINGS:
1. Doing work deemed to be a "man’s job."
So your man is not very handy. But you learned a thing or two from your dad growing up. When it comes time to repair something around the house, or changing a tire, you will embarrass the heck out of him by doing it. He'll feel like his woman had to do his work. Your husband wants to do those things for you, or at least have them taken care of if he's unable.

2. Not introducing him
You probably know people who your husband has never met. That could be at work, at the gym, or even the grocery store. When your husband is with you and you cross paths with one of these people, not introducing him makes him feel like a nobody. No man wants to feel like a nobody.

3. Not acknowledging his work
A man is identified by the work he does, and the success he has doing his work. When you belittle his work, or make it seem like you don't appreciate his efforts, it is a deep cut. Even if his job sucks, or he sucks at his job, he doesn't want or need your acknowledgement of this. He needs your encouragement.

4. Doing something else during sex
Please do not pick up your phone to check who is calling, or respond to that Facebook alert. Unless you want to devastate your man. During sex a man wants to feel that you are so caught up the house could be on fire and you wouldn't know it. Anything else is a gut punch and the same as you screaming, "my man is weak in the bed!"

5. Trying to fix his mess ups
If your husband messes something up, do not...I repeat...do not try to fix it for him. Even when you know an easy solution to do so. When he messes up, he needs to fix it himself, or get to the point where he needs to ask you to step in for a fix. Don't just go around cleaning up after him like a baby. It will make him feel like a baby, not a man.

6. Mentioning what your girlfriend’s man does for her
"Mary's husband brings home fresh flowers (or carves love notes in fresh fruit) every week. She loves them, and goes on and on about him." Uh uh. That is not anything he wants to hear. In your husband's mind he thinks you are saying, "Why don't you do something nice for me? You don't compare to a man like that." You'd be better off asking him to bring home flowers (or carve love notes in fruit) for you.

7. Sharing anything personal about him in the presence of others
So your husband hates his hairy back, but if he shaves it grows back like Chewbacca. Maybe it's funny at home, but not in the presence of others. Whatever your husband's thing is at home, it should remain a thing at home. Sharing something personal, and possibly embarrassing, to others will break him down like nothing else.

10 ways the iPhone's new iOS7 can help you travel better

Not sure whether to upgrade to Apple's latest operating system? Here are ten ways iOS 7—and some of its new and updated apps—can help you while traveling.
Included with iOS7 upgrade
Find My iPhone: The enhanced Find My iPhone allows users to remotely secure lost or stolen devices, rendering them virtually useless to would-be thieves (unless they also have the associated Apple ID and password). This means it has little-to-no market value, which may help reduce theft.
Camera: The new camera app lets you fire away consecutive shots—to the tune of ten per second—which could help avoid missing that once-in-a-lifetime shot. Caveat: make sure to stand relatively still, because the device will not refocus if you move around too much.
Photo Album: Now the photo album beautifully streamlines all your images, making them easy to pull up and share, long after your trip is done. It automatically sorts photos into mini collections sorted by location and date. Or you can scale up and sort by year.
AirDrop: You know how, after a group trip or outing, there's always that one person that takes forever to upload photos to Facebook? AirDrop lets iOS users transfer files to other nearby iOS devices via WiFi and Bluetooth. It's quick, secure, and eliminates that wait time.
Maps: Avoid looking like a tourist while staring at your phone as you try to make your way around an unfamiliar town. The improved native maps app (finally!) offers spoken navigation, so throw on some earbuds and you'll look like a local just meandering around your home turf.
Weather (iPhone/iPod Touch only): Multi-destination trip on the horizon? Just plug in each of your cities and now, not only can you get a quick overview of the weather, but additional information like humidity, wind speed, and the likeliness that it will rain. (iPhone only)
Apps with improved iOS7 features
Hotel Booking with Travelocity: The brand new photo-heavy app—designed exclusively for iOS 7—lets you scan your credit card instead of manually entering the information; use the Deals Tonight feature to book last-minute, geo-based rooms; and quickly share reservation information with the new AirDrop feature. (free)
Twitter: For the first time, Siri can quickly perform a Twitter search. So when you pull up the digital assistant, you could say, "Check tweets for NYC museums," or "What is Twitter saying about California vineyards?" and it will pull a list of recent tweets, if applicable. (free)
LoungeBuddy: Have an extra long layover? This newly released app lets you find the best airport lounge option based on access requirements, cost, amenities offered, hours, user reviews, and more. It currently covers more than 700 lounges in 60 airports around the world. (free)
FoodspottingFoodies rejoice! The updated social meal finder now lets iOS 7 users search by category and can quickly scour for eats anywhere in the world. However, some features, like Guides and Hide, are currently on hold, but should eventually be reinstated. (free)

JIM IYKE AND NADIA WEDDING IN DECEMBER.

Popular gossip within celebrity circles in Ghana indicate Jim Iyke and his lady love Nadia Buari have sorted their differences, and are planning to tie the knot in December.

Recently, Jim Iyke got delivered at the Synagogue Church of All Nations by Prophet TB Joshua, hence, it is believed that he has been relieved of strongholds that were stopping him from marrying, therefore, his days of fooling around are over, and he is very ready to bear the responsibility of being a husband.

If the wedding holds, the two would have made an interesting impact as Africa's most powerful celebrity couple of our time.
I hope Jim does not embarrass Nadia by going back to his legendary bad boy ways.

Don't you think his ex-girlfriends should have taken him to a prophet for deliverance a long time ago. Most prominent among whom we know is Jim’s most recent ex, Jamaican model Keturah Hamilton.

With all the media hype Jim has enjoyed since his deliverance, we shall all be sticking around to find out if Jim is merely acting a mental script or he is on a truly honest trip this time around for real.

Best wishes Jim and Nadia.

Mike Ezuruonye; HUMILITY PAYS.

MIKE EZURONYE REWARDED WITH 3 PLOTS OF LAND FOR BEING NICE TO A STRANGER

Mike wrote:

“There was this day I was travelling to Abuja to shoot a movie and I got into the aircraft and met this woman, she was older than my mother. As I made to put my bag in the overhead compartment, I greeted her but she didn’t answer me. I just ignored her and sat down. On arrival in Abuja, the woman was struggling to get her luggage from the compartment and I just stretched my hand and helped her to get it. She asked for it without a thank you but I refused to give it to her, offering to help her take it down. On getting out of the aircraft, she again requested for her luggage but I said, madam I’ll take it to the arrival hall for you and she looked at me with bewilderment.

When we got to the arrival hall I turned to the woman and handed her luggage to her and as I made to leave, she called me by my name. I was surprised and retorted, so madam you even know my name. But why did you not answer me when I greeted you on board the aircraft.

She then said, Mike, I’ve come across a lot of your Nollywood mates and they seem to be pigheaded so that is why I always want to distant myself from them.” I just smiled and told her I’m not like that.

She asked where I was going and I felt she wanted me to ride with her into town. I told her I was in Abuja to shoot a movie. I then turned to leave but some four or five policemen who must have come to pick her told me to wait. I said what’s my own, I’ve helped her to this place and I want to go. They however insisted that I should wait. I didn’t really know who the woman was but the long and short of it all was that she ended up giving me three plots of land in Abuja.

Funke Akindele has found love again.

This is surely a happy moment for the Nollywood Star Actress Funke Akindele.
According to reliable sources, Funke Akindele has found love again after a tumultuous first marriage which recently crashed. Funke’ secret love for an aide to former Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has been revealed. Jenifer is said to be deeply in love with the new found lover.
We learnt that Funke Akindele went extra mile recently by procuring a Honda car for the lucky Bode, who was though an aide to former governor, but not as rich to have procured a car for himself.
The love for Bode has totally overwhelmed Funke as she is so having  fun and proud of the new found love.
If Funke is richer than Bode as speculated, definitely, the star actress must have learnt how to love and love indeed having suffered a setback in his first marriage to a ready-made rich polygamous man.
Wishing Funke best of luck.

FCT Abuja: Missing Female Lawyer’s Body Found Mutilated In Her Chambers.

Missing Female Lawyer’s Body Found Mutilated In Her Chambers.

A female lawyer, Mrs Ijeoma Micah's lifeless body was found mutilated, yesterday, in her chambers in the highbrow Maitama area of Abuja.
The Police in Abuja have begun investigation into the suspected murder of the female lawyer, Ijeoma, the owner of Micah and Micah Chambers, who was found dead in her office three days after she was said to have gone missing.
Her worried husband, who hadn't heard from her for three days, was learnt, arrived from London on Sunday morning, rushed to her office, only to discover her lifeless body.
He reported the matter to Area Command of the police in Maitama.
Commissioner of Police FCT, Femi Ogunbayode, who spoke on the incident said that from investigations, it was discovered that some men had called Ijeoma to her office for some business, which she went for and afterwards, nothing was heard from her.
Ogunbayode said that as a result of the killing, a security detail that was attached to Ifeoma was arrested and was being interrogated for alleged complicity.
He said that since the security detail did not report the case to the police until her husband came back from abroad and discovered her body, he was therefore a suspect.
He added that the Forensic Investigation Unit at the FCT Command was already at the office, where she was allegedly killed and had commenced investigation into the matter.
Sympathisers in the area said that the Ifeoma’s husband broke the door of her office and on seeing the lifeless body of his wife, almost killed himself while crying.
It was also gathered that Ijeoma’s car had been missing from the usual parking spot in front of her office building.

NIGERIAN EMBASSY IN MOSCOW INVADED.

Nigeria's ambassador to Russia, Mr Assam Ekanem Assam, has threatened to recommend the repatriation of some Nigerian students in Moscow, who invaded the country's embassy in Moscow on September 30.

He said the embassy was invaded by 21 ex-Niger Delta militants, who are currently studying in Russia, under the Federal Government's amnesty programme.
He accused the students of destroying furniture, cars, computers, televisions, communications system and a 17th century artefact donated to the embassy by the Federal Ministry of Culture.
The ambassador, who said he was in Nigeria when the incident happened said that the deputy defence attaché was `` beaten up'' by the protesting students.
He said the ex-militants were protesting unpaid allowances by the Federal Government, including warm clothing and transport allowances.
Their other demands included an increase in their housing allowance from 200 dollars to 1,600 dollars a month and immediate payment of their monthly stipend, he said.
"Each person is claiming about $7,800 and they wanted it paid before they leave the embassy."
According to the ambassador, when the embassy staff intimate him about the protests, he contacted Mr Kingsley Kuku, Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs.
"He told me that the students were only owed salaries for the month of September."
He quoted Kuku as saying that the salaries had been sent to the CBN on September 23 for remittance to the students' individual accounts in Moscow.
The ambassador said all efforts to persuade the students to be patient failed as they vented their anger on the staff and property at the embassy.
He said that the embassy alerted the Russian police who detained some of the suspects and subsequently released them.
"Whether they are still welcome in Russia is not a matter for me to decide; that is a matter for the Russian government.
"But as for the Nigerian government, I told these boys that if they result to violence at anytime during the tenancy of their training, I will recommend that they be repatriated back to Nigeria because it is a total disgrace to Nigeria and the Nigerian community.
"I have communicated with the Federal Government and the desk officer in charge of their programme is coming here on Monday."
Assam acknowledged that Nigerian students in Moscow, under various scholarship programmes, usually had difficulty in accessing their grants.
He, however, said that it was not a justification to invade the premises of a foreign embassy.
"Bayesla students have problems and even those Federal Government scholarship students have problems with their grants.
"But in this particular case, we do not have any business with them, their money is paid directly to their individual account from the CBN.
"Everything in the public space at the embassy has been damaged.
"If everybody who was owed salary reacted this way, will there be a world?" the envoy asked.

Jim Iyke replies critics on his deliverance via his tweet.

An avalanche of humiliating comments and posts had rained down on the actor moments after the news of his deliverance session broke and the video went viral. Yesterday, we reported comments from Nollywood critic Charles Novia and ex AGN President Segun Arinze with the latter calling it ‘embarrassing’
Those who know Jim Iyke say his tweets in response to this situation is quite unlike the actor who previously would have punched hard in response, a lot are beginning to believe he may have been truly ‘delivered’.

Read his tweets:
